|Dr Paolo Girardi|
Conference Chair, Dr Paolo Girardi is a Full Professor of Psychiatry at the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, School of Medicine and Psychology, Department of Neuroscience, Mental Health and Sensory Organs (NESMOS). He is also Director of the Psychiatric Department of Saint Andrea Hospital of Rome, Italy.
|Dr Giulio Perugi|
Co-Chair of the conference, Dr Perugi works as the co-director of the Day-Hospital unit of the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Pisa. Dr Perugi is professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Psychopharmacotherapy at the University of Pisa, Italy and since December 2000, Dr Perugi has been the director of the Institute of Behavioural Sciences "G. Delisio" in Pisa. He is also involved in the International Research Project on Mood Disorders in collaboration with the University of South California in San Diego.

Jules Angst, MD, is Emeritus Professor of Psychiatry at Zurich University in Zurich, Switzerland, and Honorary Doctor of Heidelberg University in Heidelberg, Germany.
|Prof Eduard Vieta|
Eduard Vieta is Professor of Psychiatry and the Director of the Bipolar Disorders Program of the Hospital Clinic at the University of Barcelona, Spain. He also serves as Director of Research at the Clinical Institute of Neuroscience at the same institution.
|Prof Elie Hantouche|
Dr Hantouche is the Director of CTAH, Anxiety and Mood Center, France. He is also involved as the scientific advisor of AFTOC (the French Association of Patients with OCD), ARGOS (bipolar patients) and BICYCLE (parents of bipolar children).
|Prof Zoltan Rihmer|
Professor Zoltán Rihmer, MD, PhD, DSc, is a Professor of Psychiatry at the Department of Clinical and Theoretical Mental Health and Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Semmelweis Medical University, Budapest. He is also the director of Laboratory for Suicide Research and Prevention, National Institute of Psychiatry and Addictions, Budapest, Hungary.
|Prof Gabriele Sachs|
Gabriele Sachs is Medical Director of the Wagner–Jauregg Neuropsychiatric State Hospital in Linz, Austria. She was head of the Cognitive Clinical Neuroscience Programme at the Medical University Vienna, Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, where she also established a clinical research programme for patients with schizophrenia.
|Prof Mark Weiser|
In addition to research, Prof. Weiser is the Chief Psychiatrist at the Sheba Medical Center, where he administers a 150 bed clinical unit, and is Professor and Chair of Psychiatry at the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. He is also Associate Director of Treatment Trials at the Stanley Medical Research Institute, a non-profit organization which supports research in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

Maurizio Pompili, M.D, Ph.D. is currently Professor of Suicidology and part of the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology of Sapienza University of Rome, Italy.

Dr. Dina Popovic currently works as a psychiatrist at the Sheba Medical Center, Tel Aviv University and as a clinical researcher at the Bipolar Disorders Program of the Hospital Clinic, University of Barcelona, Spain.

Dr Andrea Murru currently works as a Researcher at the Fundació Clínic in Barcelona, Spain, in the Bipolar Disorders Unit of the Hospital Clínic.

Dr Xenia Gonda is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Clinical and Theoretical Mental Health and the Department of Pharmacodynamics of Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary.

Gabriele Sani, medical doctor and psychiatrist, is Assistant Professor (ssd MED-25) at the School of Medicine and Psychology of Sapienza University, Rome, Italy, Department of Neurosciences, Mental Health, and Sensory Functions (NESMOS).
|Dr Alexia Koukopoulos|
Alexia Koukopoulos is a psychiatrist and co-founder of the Center for Prevention and Treatment of Women’s Mental Disorders (Centro di Prevenzione e Cura per il Disagio Psichico della Donna) at the Sant’Andrea Hospital, Rome, Italy, who has dedicated her clinical and research work to the field of mood disorders in women, especially in the perinatal period. She has published several articles and book chapters on the topics of bipolar disorders and women’s mental health.
