The IFPB is delighted to announce the following plenary speakers for the International Review of Psychosis & Bipolarity 2015

Prof William Coryell (USA)
Prof William Coryell (USA)

 George Winokur Professor of Psychiatry, University of Iowa, United States.


  Prof Coryell is the George Winokur Professor of Psychiatry and Director of Inpatient Services in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He has published over 300 peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters, most of which have concerned the affective and anxiety disorders. His research interests have included the long-term natural history of these disorders, associated biological state- and trait-markers for major depression and panic disorder, the diagnostic boundaries between psychotic depression and schizophrenia, the use of plasma levels to optimize antipsychotic and antidepressant treatment, and the use of clinical and biological measures to assess suicide risk.


Prof Coryell obtained his bachelors degree from the University of Georgia, his M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia and his residency in psychiatry at Washington University. He has served terms as a reviewer on the VA Merit Review Board and on several NIMH Study Sections and has had steady NIMH grant support for the past 26 years.
